Museo d'Orsay
Once a railway station, the Orsay Museum has been beautifully renovated to enshrine the impressionist masterpieces of the XIXth century, one of the most glorious artistic eras in the history of France.
Starting with the Academic art of the Salons, your guide will take you through the narrative of all the artistic changes this century witnessed. You will hear the story of the scandalous “Luncheon in the Grass” painted by Manet and understand everything about the revolution brought by Monet, Renoir and the other Impressionists.
Of course, we can not miss the rooms dedicated to the artists that carried on their legacy, like Gauguin and the famous Van Gogh, who once lived in Montmartre. To finish our visit, we will plunge into the bohemian atmosphere of this neighborhood, admiring the Shadow Puppets of the cabaret Le Chat Noir and the posters that Toulouse Lautrec made to promote the notorious Moulin Rouge.
